Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
2018-2021
The Policies for Action Research Hub at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, teamed with researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Columbia University, will examine the continuing course and impact of health insurance expansion and alternative models of coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The team comprises experts in health economics, biostatistics, political science, medicine, and social work, and will investigate how Medicaid work requirements are affecting coverage, access to care, patient experiences, and employment; analyze changes in mortality among non-elderly adults before and after the ACA; and the compare the effects of Medicaid versus Marketplace coverage on low-income adults. Additionally, the hub will be responsible for rapid-turnaround analyses of key issues that arise in Medicaid policy and health care disparities during the study period.
