Christine Fu

Christine Fu joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2021 as a senior program officer in the Research-Evaluation-Learning department. She is excited to marry her passion for generating evidence and how it informs policy and practice with RWJF’s mission to build a Culture of Health in the U.S. 

Previously, Christine was a senior evaluation officer at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In this role, she oversaw strategic agency-wide and interagency evaluations of programmatic data and information management; staff learning and development; achievements towards ending statelessness; and private sector partnerships and refugee livelihoods strategies. Also, as a UNHCR senior program assessment and analysis officer, she spearheaded the development of the agency’s system for monitoring results and its framework for the situation analysis that underpins its country office multiyear strategies. 

Prior to working at the UN, Christine was a senior research and evaluation advisor for the Office of HIV/AIDS in the Bureau for Global Health, USAID in Washington, D.C. Under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program, she oversaw global- and country-level research and evaluation related to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). She also provided technical assistance to U.S. diplomatic missions and oversight of OVC impact evaluations.  

Christine is a native of California with a BS in International Political Economy from Georgetown University and a PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has lived in Asia and Europe and has worked on international development and humanitarian issues in more than 50 countries. 

Christine lives in Princeton, N.J., with her partner and two children. On the weekends, she likes to bake and cook, try out new restaurants, and play board/video games with the kids. She is an avid reader and traveler and likes learning about different cultures and customs.
