Nicholas J. Marantz
Nicholas J. Marantz is an Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Public Policy in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a PhD in Urban & Regional Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Marantz’s research uses quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the connection between land use regulation and socioeconomic disparities. His research has been funded by organizations such as the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the National Science Foundation, the Lincoln Institute for Land Policy, the California Air Resources Board, and the US Department of Housing & Urban Development. Marantz’s articles have been published in the Journal of the American Planning Association, Housing Policy Debate, Urban Studies, the Urban Affairs Review, the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, and Cityscape, among other journals.
