Maryam Rafieifar
Maryam Rafieifar, PhD, MSc, MA, serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her research centers on using community-based participatory methods to understand the effects of immigration enforcement policies on the well-being of children in mixed-status immigrant families. Building on her experience working with immigrant communities, she examines the impact of these policies on family dynamics and child well-being, to inform supportive practices and advocate for immigrant children's rights. Before transitioning to academia, she worked with various local nonprofits and international organizations, including the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, focusing on communities in the Middle East and West Asia.
