Nicole Leeper Piquero

Nicole Leeper Piquero is the Chair and a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Miami. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland in 2001. Dr. Piquero currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of White-Collar and Corporate Crime and is a Past President of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles. Her research focuses on understanding causes of crime, evaluating criminal justice policy, and the study of white-collar and corporate crime. 

  • This project evaluates the effects of the passing of Amendment 4 in Florida, which was designed to restore the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions after completing all terms of their sentence, including a requirement that people with felony records pay all fines and fees associated with their sentence prior to the restoration of their voting rights.
