University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy
2015-2019
The Policies for Action Research Hub at the University of Michigan is focused on a group of emergent policy innovations for which there is currently a fair amount of action and activity, yet existing efforts are fragmented and suffer from a nascent evidence base. This includes Pay-for-Success initiatives, “Health in All Policies” efforts, and interventions targeting super-utilizers of health care. Although these activities are exciting, there is limited empirical evidence to determine what works, how initiatives/interventions are structured and implemented, and sustainability over time. The University of Michigan Hub research projects aim to strengthen conceptual models, identify synergies, estimate potential impact, and inform best practices for future policy directions to accelerate progress toward population health improvement and health equity.
